Functions
- It connects the operating installation of the users in blocks of flats or commercial users to the supplier line
- It meters the active energy used by each subscriber and by the staircase lighting
- It provides short-circuit or overload protection and protection to the differentiated residual currents of the supplying columns of users
- Industrial frequency over-voltage protection of users, due to the accidental interruption of the null conductor
- The possibility of re-supplying by the user in case of safe emergency stop after a power malfunction in his installations
- The possibility of cutting the power supply by the supplier, regardless whether the user is present or not
- Protection against electric power theft or equipment destruction by offenders or unauthorized persons

Component parts
- Metallic or thermo-plastic polycarbonate case with transparent cover, with two compartments, one for metering and countering, the other for distribution (bridging bars and electric protection equipment against short-circuit, overload and fault current), placed near by
- Metal framework for mounting the single-phase counters, made of zinc-plated metal sheet
- Metal framework for mounting the bar pattern and protection equipment, made of zinc-plated metal sheet
- The access door to the general supplying compartment is provided with windows at automatic breaker in order to allow their easy connection or disconnection
- Seals for input/output cables
- SIST type safety fuses base with MPR fuses placed on general niche supplying line (from more than 6 users)
- Protection equipment is made of bi-polar differential automatic breaker (ld = 300mA) provided with protection to overload, short-circuit with breaking capacity lcu=10kA)
- Industrial frequency over-voltage protection module; they are used together with automatic breaker with triggering coil
- Bridging bars (R, S, T, NL) on insulating supports
- Indoor electric circuits made of insulated copper conductors
- Pressure gaskets or cuttings for input/output supplying cables
